SUMMARY:Budding Gardeners: The Amazing Honeybee
DESCRIPTION:Learn about the crucial role bees play in helping plants grow. Without bees\, many of the food sources we enjoy each day would be gone. \nA local beekeeper will display some bees in a special safety container and discuss their importance\, and children will learn about the lifecycle of bees. Each child will pot a flowering plant and make a Mother’s Day card to take home. They also leave with information about honeybees and a flowering seed pack. \n\nBudding Gardeners is aimed at children in grades 1-6 to discover gardening\, conservation\, and wildlife through interactive programs\, crafts\, and outdoor activities. \n\nA snack in sealed packaging will be served . \nCOVID-19 health and safety guidelines will be practiced during this event. Seating and work stations in the will be socially distanced. We plan to hold this event outside with lots of space for physical distancing. We do require people to wear masks indoors at all times. Masks are not required outdoors unless you cannot maintain at least six feet of distance from others. \nThe program is free for members and only $5 for nonmembers\, but space is limited. Registration is required\, so we know how many supplies to provide.
