SUMMARY:Awards Workshop
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\n\nJoin LaVonne O’Shields\, Eileen Zebroski\, and Jan Sillik to learn how to write a winning application for a Florida Federation of Garden Clubs award. LaVonne and Eileen will demystify the awards-writing process by taking attendees through each step\, from analyzing an award’s requirements\, understanding the scoring scale\, gathering documentation\, to producing the final product for submission. Winning awards will be available for review. \nLaVonne O’Shields is a member of the Garden Club of Jacksonville and the awards chair for FFGC District IV. She is a former educator and has written successful grants and awards in her professional career and on behalf of the Garden Divas Circle and the Garden Club of Jacksonville. \nEileen Zebroski is a Ribault Garden Club member and the District IV youth awards chair. aShe served many years as the youth gardening chair for FFGC. \nJan Sillik is a former president of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) and a life member of the National Garden Clubs (NGC)\, FFGC\, and the Deep South Garden Clubs. An accredited master flower show judge\, she is the founder of the Fun with Flowers program\, which she originated at the Garden Club of Jacksonville and continues to run throughout FFGC. Sillik is a former president of the Wildflower Garden Circle. \nThis program will be offered in-person at the Garden Club of Jacksonville and simultaneously on Zoom. SUMMARY:FFGC District IV Spring Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Attend this spring business meeting of District IV of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs\, featuring a presentation by Cheryl Cummer\, Madelaine LeDew\, and Valerie Herrmann about Lanakila Garden\, the two and half-acre property on the St. Johns River that Cummer has worked to preserve through the North Florida Land Trust. The entire property is maintained organically and sustainably using agroecology principles\, and includes a regenerative food park\, a micro-flower farm\, and a riparian flood-tolerant garden on the river. \nAttendees may arrive as early as 9 a.m. for morning coffee and pastries by Brew Five Points\, socializing\, and shopping at the boutique tables. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. \nThis program will be offered in-person at the Garden Club and simultaneously on Zoom. Seating at the Garden Club is limited\, so purchase your ticket today. COVID-19 health and safety guidelines will be practiced during this event. Seating in the Ballroom will be socially distanced\, and attendees must wear masks throughout the entire program. Lunch will be served at tables throughout the campus. \nIf you need help registering or want to send a check\, please call 904-355-4224\, and we’ll be glad to help. \nBallroom tickets (limited seating)\n\n$25 for FFGC members\n\nIncludes morning coffee and pastries and your choice of individual boxed lunch: \nGrilled chicken paillard\, presented sliced\, with roasted fennel\, Picholine olives\, grilled lemon\, extra virgin olive oil\, Grana Padano cheese\, arugula salad\, lemon-dill roasted fingerlings.
