SUMMARY:Horticulture Corner: Rose Therapy
DESCRIPTION:Join Pam Greenewald of Rose Garden Angels\, a nonprofit that uses horticultural therapy for mental\, physical\, and spiritual healing. The organization works with veterans suffering from PTSD and other combat-related disabilities to grow roses which are sold to create a source of income for the participants. One of those veterans\, Tayden Haile of Orange Park\, joins Greenewald for the presentation. \nThe program is designed to improve the the participants’ independence by developing or enhancing stress-management techniques\, emotional balance\, and psychological well-being through working with nature. \nBenefits of horticultural therapy include healing of body\, mind\, and spirit through physical activity\, relaxation\, enjoyment\, skill development\, creative expression\, sensory stimulation\, intellectual and personal growth\, social interaction\, and a sense of productivity and self-satisfaction. \nThis program will be offered in-person at the Garden Club and simultaneously on Zoom. Seating at the Garden Club is limited\, so register today. COVID-19 health and safety guidelines will be practiced during this event. Seating in the Ballroom will be socially distanced\, and attendees must wear masks throughout the entire program. \nGreenewald will also have roses for sale after the program.
