Come to the Garden Club of Jacksonville’s Luminaria Festival for Homegrown & Handmade\, a pop-up shop  of vendors that sell homegrown or handmade items. \nCelebrate Riverside Avondale Preservation Luminaria Night with a party at the Garden Club of Jacksonville and luminaria tours by Go Tuk’n. Take in the view of the luminaria from the front lawn of the Garden Club while you listen to holiday music\, sip a beverage\, nosh on small bites\, and play lawn games. Visit our craft table to make holiday decorations. \nVisit vendors selling plants\, garden-produced goods\, honey\, artwork\, jewelry\, handcrafts\, and much more. DESCRIPTION:RESERVE YOUR SPACE\n\nJoin the Garden Club of Jacksonville and Riverside Avondale Preservation on National CleanUp Day. Children and their families join this national effort to keep the outdoors clean. As a group\, children and their parents will safely pick up litter along Post Street and Riverside Avenue. This special Budding Gardeners starts at the Garden Club at 9 a.m. and continues until 11 a.m. Refreshments will be served at the Garden Club at 11 a.m. \n\n\nAccording to National CleanUp Day\, many studies show that someone will pick up litter is if they witness someone else picking up litter. That’s because peer group norms are more powerful than incentives\, and together\, they can provide impressive behavioral change. Most people want to do the right thing; all they need is a little encouragement or incentive. The leadership of National CleanUp Day believes people are naturally responsible; if we encourage them to care for their favorite places\, to pick up after themselves and others\, then our outdoor spaces will become self-sufficient\, clean\, and more enjoyable. \nEveryone participating in Budding Gardeners: CleanUp Jax is required to wear closed shoes and protective clothing. \nBudding Gardeners is aimed at children in grades 1-6 to discover gardening\, conservation\, and wildlife through interactive programs\, crafts\, and outdoor projects. Founding members focused on city planning projects\, with a particular focus on creating and revitalizing city parks. The Garden Club was instrumental in creating spaces like Memorial Park and preserving many of the city’s ancient live oak trees. \nYour Brunch Ticket will give you a sneak peak of the Garden Club’s transformational landscape redesign plans by Marquis\, Latimer + Halback. \nThe Garden Club has a festive day of events planned both inside the elegant Ballroom and outside next to the St. Johns River\, including a catered brunch by Chef’s Garden Catering & Events\, signature cocktails\, live music by Douglas Anderson School of the Arts\, a performance by Barbara Colaciello as Ninah Cummer\, and rides on the St. Johns River Taxi. \nAll proceeds from this event will go to the capital campaign to fund the future Garden Club landscape redesign. \nThe Garden Club of Jacksonville is  501(c)(3) nonprofit.
