The Garden Club was instrumental in creating spaces like Memorial Park and preserving many of the city’s ancient live oak trees. \nYour Brunch Ticket will give you a sneak peak of the Garden Club’s transformational landscape redesign plans by Marquis\, Latimer + Halback. \nThe Garden Club has a festive day of events planned both inside the elegant Ballroom and outside next to the St. Johns River\, including a catered brunch by Chef’s Garden Catering & Events\, signature cocktails\, live music by Douglas Anderson School of the Arts\, a performance by Barbara Colaciello as Ninah Cummer\, and rides on the St. Johns River Taxi. \nAll proceeds from this event will go to the capital campaign to fund the future Garden Club landscape redesign. \nThe Garden Club of Jacksonville is  501(c)(3) nonprofit. DESCRIPTION:Attend this spring business meeting of District IV of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs\, featuring a presentation by Cheryl Cummer\, Madelaine LeDew\, and Valerie Herrmann about Lanakila Garden\, the two and half-acre property on the St. Johns River that Cummer has worked to preserve through the North Florida Land Trust. The entire property is maintained organically and sustainably using agroecology principles\, and includes a regenerative food park\, a micro-flower farm\, and a riparian flood-tolerant garden on the river. \nAttendees may arrive as early as 9 a.m. for morning coffee and pastries by Brew Five Points\, socializing\, and shopping at the boutique tables. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. \nThis program will be offered in-person at the Garden Club and simultaneously on Zoom. Seating at the Garden Club is limited\, so purchase your ticket today. DESCRIPTION:One night only! Celebrate Riverside Avondale Preservation Luminaria Night with a party at the Garden Club of Jacksonville and luminaria tours by Go Tuk’n. Take in the view of the luminaria from the front lawn of the Garden Club while you listen to live music\, sip a beverage\, nosh on small bites\, and play lawn games with plenty of room to physically distance while connecting socially. Attend the Holiday Garden Boutique in the Ballroom and find a wide range of items: masks\, accessories\, jewelry\, garden tools\, Christmas decor\, books\, and more! \nCatch a tour from Go Tuk’n and enjoy an open-air ride through the lights of Riverside and Avondale. There are six seats in each Tuk Tuk\, and four Tuk Tuks will be running during each tour time. You may also opt for a private Tuk Tuk. Tickets are free for children ages 3 and younger\, but they will need to sit on an adult’s lap. \nCOVID-19 health and safety guidelines will be practiced during this event. DESCRIPTION:In 1922\, Ninah May Holden Cummer gathered a group of friends in her Riverside home to create a more beautiful city. This group ultimately became the Garden Club of Jacksonville. Ninah Cummer was born on October 16\, 1875\, and the Garden Club is celebrating with an outdoor picnic with plenty of room to physically distance while connecting socially. Stroll the campus and enjoy the river view while listening to a live band. \nOrder a drink and a snack box of imported and domestic artisan cheeses; charcuterie of chorizo\, soppressata\, and prosciutto; dried apricots; grapes; Marcona almonds; crackers; and rosemary focaccia crisps. \nThe Garden Club is also celebrating its official designation as a historic landmark by the city of Jacksonville.
