Our Mission

The Garden Club of Jacksonville promotes a love of gardening, floral and landscape design, civic and environmental responsibility, and lifelong learning by providing educational opportunities, community engagement, and resources that enrich the lives of our members and the communities we serve.

Our Impact

Today, the Garden Club serves more than 900 members and thousands of community residents through educational programming, volunteer service, youth initiatives, environmental stewardship, and civic beautification projects.

Through our Circles, Guilds, committees, and partnerships, volunteers contribute thousands of hours annually to projects that strengthen neighborhoods, support local nonprofits, beautify public spaces, and connect residents with nature. Our members have supported schools, community centers, environmental organizations, parks, healthcare facilities, and numerous charitable initiatives throughout Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.

Education and Community Outreach

Education has been at the heart of the Garden Club’s mission since its founding.

Throughout the year, the Garden Club hosts lectures, workshops, demonstrations, exhibits, plant sales, youth programs, and hands-on learning experiences that make horticulture, conservation, and environmental stewardship accessible to all. From beginning gardeners to seasoned experts, our programs provide opportunities to learn, share knowledge, and build meaningful connections.

The Garden Club is committed to expanding access to gardening and environmental education while strengthening relationships with diverse communities throughout Jacksonville. Through community partnerships, volunteer initiatives, scholarships, youth engagement, and public programs, we strive to create lasting positive impact for future generations.

A Premier Venue with a Purpose

What makes the Garden Club unique is that our beautiful riverfront campus not only serves as a center for education and community engagement—it also operates as one of Northeast Florida’s premier event venues.

Located along the St. Johns River in Jacksonville’s historic Riverside neighborhood, the Garden Club hosts weddings, galas, fundraisers, corporate events, celebrations, nonprofit gatherings, community meetings, and special occasions throughout the year. Our Grand Ballroom, Club Room, and Courtyard provide elegant and versatile spaces for events of all sizes.

Revenue generated through venue rentals directly supports the Garden Club’s nonprofit mission, helping fund educational programs, youth outreach, facility preservation, community initiatives, and environmental stewardship efforts. Every event hosted on our campus helps sustain programs that benefit the broader community.

Our Historic Campus

The Garden Club’s Riverside campus has served as a gathering place for generations of gardeners, civic leaders, educators, and community members. Since opening its first permanent facility in 1948 and expanding with the current main building in 1958, the campus has welcomed thousands of visitors each year for educational programs, community events, horticultural exhibits, and celebrations.

Today, the campus remains a vibrant center where people come together to learn, celebrate, volunteer, and build community.

Looking Forward

Guided by our 2024–2029 Strategic Plan, the Garden Club of Jacksonville is focused on increasing community impact, expanding educational opportunities, strengthening partnerships, diversifying participation, growing volunteer engagement, and ensuring long-term sustainability for future generations.

We believe gardens are more than landscapes—they are places where communities grow, friendships flourish, knowledge is shared, and lasting change begins.
