Join the Garden Club of Jacksonville for Fun with Flowers: Back to Basics on July 15, 2026, for a day of floral creativity, hands-on design, and inspiration. This special program will feature both morning and evening sessions, each offering a unique opportunity to learn professional floral design techniques while creating beautiful arrangements in a welcoming and educational setting. Attendees will explore timeless floral fundamentals and classic arranging skills for everyday entertaining, seasonal décor, and special occasions.
The morning session, Back to Basics: Fun with Jan and Sam, will be led by Jan Sillik and Sam Runyon. Together, they will guide attendees through approachable floral design techniques, foundational arrangement principles, and creative tips for working confidently with fresh flowers. This session is designed to be educational, interactive, and enjoyable for both beginners and experienced flower enthusiasts.
The evening session will feature Sandy Dixon, Master Rosarian, member of Floralines (the floral design group of the Garden Club of St. Augustine), and Wildflower Circle member at the Garden Club of Jacksonville. Known for her outstanding presentations and expertise in floral artistry, Sandy will lead a special workshop focused on floral design with roses, sharing techniques for creating elegant arrangements while highlighting the beauty and versatility of one of the world’s most iconic flowers.
Fun with Flowers is an educational outreach program in which attendees learn professional floral design techniques and then create their own arrangements during the hands-on portion.
The morning session is 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
The evening session is 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
This program will be offered in person at the Garden Club.
