Budding Gardeners: Beach Life
May 30 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join the Garden Club of Jacksonville for Budding Gardeners: Beach Life on May 30, 2026, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. for a fun-filled morning celebrating Florida’s coastal ecosystems and the start of summer. Designed for children ages 4–12, this interactive program will feature hands-on activities, crafts, and educational experiences inspired by beach life and coastal conservation.
This month’s program will be led by Sarah Tomlinson, Master Gardener Coordinator for the UF/IFAS St. Johns County Extension Office. Through her work in environmental and horticultural education, Sarah helps connect families and communities with Florida’s natural ecosystems through engaging, science-based learning opportunities. For Beach Life, she is creating a special coastal ecology program tailored specifically for young learners, introducing children to the plants, wildlife, and environmental importance of Florida’s beaches and coastal habitats.
Budding Gardeners encourages children and their parents or caregivers to learn together through creative projects, outdoor exploration, and interactive activities that connect gardening, conservation, and wildlife education in a fun and welcoming environment.
Each registration includes one parent and child.
The program is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers. Registration is required, so we know how many supplies to provide. Please call 904-355-4224 if your child cannot attend.
This program is proudly sponsored by the Watsonia Circle.
