Children and their families learn about what birds need to thrive during the winter and how they can help during this program in collaboration with the Duval Audubon Society. Each child will plant and take home a seedling of a native plant that will attract birds. Families will join a scavenger hunt around the Garden Club campus to find plants that attract birds for habitat and food.

Budding Gardeners is aimed at children in grades 1-6 to discover gardening, conservation, and wildlife through interactive programs, crafts, and outdoor projects. Children and their parents or caregivers collaborate during a morning of healthy and fun activities. A snack in sealed packaging will be served.

COVID-19 health and safety guidelines will be practiced during this event. We require guests to wear masks indoors at all times, but we plan to hold much of this event outside with lots of space for physical distancing. Seating and work stations will be socially distanced. Masks are not required outdoors unless you cannot maintain at least six feet of distance from others.

The program is free for members and only $5 for nonmembers, but space is limited. Registration is required, so we know how many supplies to provide. Please call 904-355-4224 if your child cannot attend, so we can allow those on the waiting list to take part.
