Horticulture Corner: Houseplant Parenthood

| FREELearn the basics of houseplant care with Amanda Mahoney of Cultivate. We will discuss choosing the best houseplants for your lifestyle and unique space and how to care for some of the most common varieties. This class will give you the confidence you need to help your plants thrive. Learn all about watering, choosing the correct type of soil and pot, plant hygiene, and treating the most common pests. Plants, locally made pots, and other items for your indoor and outdoor garden will be available for purchase after the class.
Mahoney works at Cultivate, an eco-friendly shop in Riverside specializing in houseplants and U.S.-made items for the garden, home, and child. Mahoney studied sustainability education in college and focused on how to help people reconnect with nature. She sees caring for houseplants as a wonderful way to do that.
This program will be offered in-person at the Garden Club and simultaneously on Zoom. Seating at the Garden Club is limited, so register today. COVID-19 health and safety guidelines will be practiced during this event. Seating in the Ballroom will be socially distanced, and attendees must wear masks throughout the entire program.
