Foodscaping: Have Your Landscape and Eat It, Too

Discover how to create a landscape that is both beautiful and productive! Join us for this Horticulture Corner program as Beth Marlowe, Urban Garden Coordinator with the UF/IFAS Duval County Extension Office, shares practical tips for incorporating edible plants into your home landscape.

Whether you have a spacious backyard or a small patio, you’ll learn how to grow herbs, leafy greens, edible flowers, fruits, and vegetables alongside ornamental plants. Beth will also discuss gardening in containers, working within homeowners association guidelines, and safely managing pests without using chemicals that could affect edible crops. Plus, attendees will receive free seeds from the Urban Garden collection to help get started.

About the Speaker
Beth Marlowe is the Urban Garden Coordinator for the UF/IFAS Duval County Extension Office, where she teaches Jacksonville residents how to grow vegetables, herbs, and fruit. She previously worked as a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and served as a Duval County Master Gardener Volunteer for five years. Beth holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science.
