Children and their families can learn about the wonderful world of succulents, a wildly popular group of plants that have fleshy leaves and stems, such as cacti, aloe, and jade. These fascinating plants have captured the attention of millions of plant enthusiasts because of their intriguing, architectural forms and alluring coloration. They have adapted to survive in challenging conditions, which make them great gateway plants for young gardeners.

Join Jen and Brandi Burnham of Lush Leaves to learn more about succulents, then plant a variety of succulents to take home and enjoy. You’ll also make a paper succulent to decorate your room and taste a succulent that’s a treat to eat!

Budding Gardeners is aimed at children in grades 1-6 to discover gardening, conservation, and wildlife through interactive programs, crafts, and outdoor projects. Children and their parents or caregivers collaborate during a morning of healthy and fun activities.

Each registration includes one parent and child.

The program is free for members and only $5 for nonmembers, but space is limited. Registration is required, so we know how many supplies to provide. Please call 904-355-4224 if your child cannot attend.
