Get a great car wash and support the Centennial Garden at Historic Willow Branch Park. Drive up to the parking lot behind the Garden Club at 1005 Riverside Avenue. Proceeds from this donation-based car wash will help fund a lush garden featuring native plantings in addition to public art and reforestation.
There is plenty of room to be socially distant while supporting a great cause.
Richard Ceriello, president of the AIDS Memorial Project of Northeast Florida, has been working to improve the park for several years. His organization has planted trees in the park to commemorate those who died of HIV/AIDS.
He and Theresa Parlato formed the Plant Parenthood Facebook group with a focus on developing and celebrating gardening arts among members of the Jacksonville LGBTQ community. They’ve been working with landscape architect Scott Dowman and D. Scott Fraser of Design Development Architecture on the long-term plans for Willow Branch Park.
Register today for the #GardenClubJax virtual program A Garden to Remember on July 14 to learn more about the Centennial Garden.
