On May 7, members of the Garden Club of Jacksonville gathered for the 2026 Annual Meeting to reflect on the past year, honor members and volunteers, and celebrate the continued growth and impact of the organization.

Members heard updates on rental revenue, programming growth, and operational support that continue to strengthen the organization’s mission and outreach throughout Jacksonville.

The meeting also recognized the Garden Club staff and leadership team, including Chief Executive Officer Sonja Jones, Facilities Manager Greg D’Elia, Operations and Marketing Analysts Genesis Walker and Grace Norris, and Lead Event Ambassadors Shelby Hackett and John Thomas for their dedication and work throughout the year.

Leadership transitions for the 2026–2027 year were announced, with Sam Runyon introduced as incoming President alongside Alex Gornik as First Vice President, Marianne Salas as Vice President of Programs and Acting Recording Secretary, Martha Collins Davis as Vice President of Buildings and Grounds, and Cathe Gray serving as Acting Treasurer.

Retiring board members Cathe Gray, Susan Caton, Marianne Salas, and Catherine Reiman were thanked for their years of service and leadership.

Throughout the morning, members reflected on the strength of the Garden Club community and the shared commitment to education, conservation, horticulture, and civic beautification. The Annual Meeting served as both a celebration of accomplishments and a reminder of the meaningful connections formed through the Garden Club of Jacksonville.

Thank you to all members, volunteers, board members, staff, and supporters who continue to make the Garden Club of Jacksonville such a vibrant and welcoming organization. We look forward to another successful year ahead!
