Children and their families learned all about bees, their importance to our environment, and the lessons we can learn from them at Budding Gardeners: Busy Bees on August 13.

This program featured Mika Hardison from The Herban Bee with a presentation about honey bees and their hives, and a chance for children to ask questions and share what they know. There were then three activities:

  • Crafting DIY beeswax candles
  • Creating honey slime
  • Planting a flowering penta in a biodegradable pot to create a bee-friendly environment in the children’s yards

After the activities, children and their families enjoyed snacks in the Ballroom, played games on the Garden Club lawn, and explored our campus gardens.
