On February 10 children and their families planted fanciful fairy container gardens full of succulents to take home and enjoy. This program was presented by the Late Bloomers Garden Club, with special guests Rhonda Gracie, Rhonda Gracie, UNF horticulturist and Botanical Garden designer, and Madeline Trudeau and Shelby Stiehl, Senior Art Majors. Late Bloomers Garden Club President Marianne Salas opened the program with how stories of fairies have been passed down in her family, and how the right gardens can attract the “little people”. Rhonda Gracie then demonstrated how to make a container garden of succulents and natural materials sure to attract a sprite, or pixie. UNF art majors Shelby and Madeleine wowed guests in their beautiful fairy attire and showed off their fanciful art pieces they use in gardenscapes.
