The Garden Club of Jacksonville brought the community together once again for its annual Flea Market, turning a weekend of shopping into a celebration of reuse and recycling. The event helps keep gently used items out of local landfills while supporting the Garden Club and its affiliated Garden Circles. This year’s sale, held February 28 with a Preview Party on February 27, drew in more than 1,500 people. The Preview Party broke records, with shoppers lined up down the sidewalk waiting for the doors to open. On Saturday, the crowd stayed steady from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., creating a lively, bustling atmosphere throughout the day.

Bargain hunters found plenty to love at this oversized community yard sale, featuring items gathered from homes all over Jacksonville. The Garden Club, its Circles, and independent vendors offered everything from housewares and artwork to furniture, books, and unique collectibles. The Club Room was transformed into a hot shopping spot, set up as a boutique filled with women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing. Racks of cocktail dresses, suits, children’s clothes, jewelry, and accessories made it feel like uncovering hidden gems from some of Jacksonville’s best closets.

The food was just as much a highlight as the shopping. BF’nD Food Truck parked on-site all day Saturday, serving up favorites to keep everyone fueled. At Friday night’s Preview Party, Jimmy Vazquez treated guests to fresh empanadas, which were a big hit with the record crowd. A donation bar was also open both days, offering guests another easy way to support the Garden Club while enjoying the festivities.

As the weekend wrapped up, the spirit of giving continued. Truckloads of remaining items are being donated to The Salvation Army, ensuring that the impact of the event extends well beyond the sale itself.
