Lauren Powell of The Bread & Board Provisions Floral department joined us on September 22 to teach the basics of floral design through creating a small bouquet in a unique holder. Guests learned floral design geometry, how to create layers in arrangements, and how to add pops of color.

Lauren Powell is Nebraska-born, Orange Park-raised, and a resident of Murray Hill. Her career in floral design began in 2016 when she started working at a local florist and quickly fell in love with the art. In 2017, she and a colleague established their own florist business, sharing the basics of floral design with their step-by-step classes. Their intent was to help anyone find confidence in purchasing a little bouquet and displaying it proudly at home. She took over The Bread & Board Provisions Floral department in the spring of 2022, where she continues grow her career and water the community. Her goal at the flower bar is to encourage everyone to tap into their creativity.

Fun with Flowers is an educational outreach program that is open to the public. Founded by the Garden Club of Jacksonville more than 30 years ago, Fun With Flowers has served as a model for similar programs offered throughout the United States. Attendees learn the latest professional design techniques, then create breathtaking floral creations during the hands-on portion of the program.
