In response to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about preventing the spread of COVID-19, the Garden Club of Jacksonville has closed to the public through at least the end of April.

All Garden Club events, including those for membership, the general public, and rentals, are canceled during this period of time.

  • The Jacksonville Orchid Society canceled A Walk in the Orchids Show & Sale, originally scheduled for March 21-22.
  • Late Bloomers Garden Club canceled On a Clear Day You Can See Forever Flower Show, originally scheduled on March 25-26 at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens.
  • Fun with Flowers: Choosing Flowers for the Best Effect, originally scheduled on March 26, is canceled. Those who purchased tickets have already been contacted.
  • Blooms Galore & More, originally scheduled on April 4 with a Preview Party on April 3, is postponed. We are researching options for this fall and will let you know when new dates have been set. Vendors have already been contacted, and those who purchased tickets to the Preview Party are being contacted separately.
  • Horticulture Corner, scheduled on April 7, is canceled.
  • Fun with Flowers: Summer Cocktails, scheduled on April 22, is canceled.
  • Greenscape of Jacksonville canceled Root Ball 2020: Derby in the Garden, scheduled on May 2.

Although the Garden Club already practices rigorous daily cleaning and sanitizing procedures, this extended closure will allow us to perform even deeper cleaning throughout the facility.

We encourage you to follow this guidance from the Florida Department of Health:

  • Stay home and avoid contact with people when you are sick.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water—20 seconds or longer—and dry them with a clean towel or air dryer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands or after touching surfaces.
  • Cover your mouth with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Please be safe and be kind to one another during this difficult time. We’re all in this together!
